We took Brinson to the doctor on Thurs due to inconsolable crying Weds night. She also was running fever (102). She was diagnosed with bilateral ear infections (no surprise there) and an upper respiratory infection. The doc put her on Ciprodex ear drops and Omnicef (antibiotic) by mouth. She's still running fever of 100-102 and we're giving her alternating Tylenol and Motrin. Send a few extra prayers our way to help B get better soon.
Also, the Rahman family needs super prayers. I'm sure you all know B's NICU buddy Noah. He's in the hospital right now. He has strep pneumonia. We send good wishes his way as well as tons of prayers to Sami and Laura.

My family and I have been using Xylitol products for years to prevent ear infections in my daughter and its continued to work remarkably.
Xylitol inhibits the growth of Streptococcus pneumoniae and it inhibits the attachment of both pneumococci and Haemophilus influenzae on the nasopharyngeal cells.
And its easy to use and tastes great, we simply give my daughter candy and mints containing Xylitol and it also helps prevent cavities : )
Hugs and kisses to you and Brinson and a speedy recovery....
Down fever Down....
Love,
Aunt B

I enjoy reading your blog and seeing your little girl. I too have a preemie and it is so nice to learn about others and their stories. Prayers for your daughters health.
