Update on Miss Sickiepoo
Hello all. It's 2am and I'm waiting to go feed the princess. Just thought I'd give a quick update. I took Brinson to the doc today (her 2nd visit this week!)(oh, and it was MY first outing alone with her) because she's been coughing more and having nasal drainage. Her temps have been fine, actually she is usually on the colder side of normal. She has also been vomiting quite a bit this week. There have been some changes, ie diuretics are every other day and we are trying a new Habermann bottle so we weren't sure if those were causing the problems. Dr. Rossell is outta town so we got in to see Dr. Hirsch. She's really nice and I liked her alot. She gave Brinson two Albuterol treatments which raised her O2 sats from 95 to 98%. No wheezes heard, however her lungs sounded coarse per the MD. She is going to be on the Neb treatments every 4 hours around the clock for the next 24 hours. Then we start to taper. ALso put her on antibiotics and told us she is probably nauseated from all the drainage. She recommended we dilute her formula and do 1/2 Electrolytes and 1/2 Neocate. She said to give it slowly, slower than we have been pushing. So far so good (knock on wood). At this point, she says she does not think she needs steroids. Her humidifier in the room is on and she is still smiling. Not acting sick unless she has coughing spells...then she gets grumpy. Can't say I blame her though. At times she sounds horrible. The doc isn't sure if its the flu, but she's thinking it's an Upper Respiratory Infection. Please keep her in your prayers. I knew we weren't gonna luck out and NOT get sick this winter, I am just hoping she gets better quickly. *Hugs*

Brinson got sick
Well it happened, Brinson did get sick. Not sure if it is the flu or something else.
Mommy took her to the doctor today. Brinson has all the same yuckie symptoms that we get. So she feels bad.
Needless to say, it has been exciting around here.

2 fevers, Daddy is stepping up
Saturday night, we went to Nana's for dinner. Nana was a bit tired, well it turns out she is sick.
Yesterday morning Nana had a 101 fever.
Aunt Pat (Great Aunt Pat to Brinson) is visiting for the next 2 weeks came over to dinner at the Zaldivar household with Grampa, Abuelo, Grandma, Uncle Mike and Aunt KD. We had a nice time visiting.
But last night, after everyone left, Mommy felt ill with a sore throat and "ding!".... has a fever.......so Daddy has stepped up. Mommy is quarantined from Brinson until her illness is under control.
Brinson cannot afford to get sick.....even though she is larger she is still not a full size person and her lungs even though require no O2 are not like yours and mine.. Also this is RSV season until March and she has not finished her flu shot (broken up in to 2 over 1 month) and her preventative RSV shot (5 $1500 shots, 1 every month).
BTW Uncle Mike and Aunt KD were at the Caymans last week and thank goodness Hurricane Paloma gave them no issues besides some bad weather.
