Surgery date
Brinson has a date for her re-anastamosis surgery at Texas Children's Hospital. It will be Oct 2, we will be admitted the night of Oct 1 for a bowel prep (poor baby). Dr. Bloss says we will probably be in the hospital for about a week. I tried hard to get him to do the surgery at Woman's Hosp but he wouldn't go for it...lol
Meme decided to extend her stay here till Oct 6 so she could be here to see Brinny thru the surgery. We are glad to have her here. She's really been a life saver for Ned and myself.
We got to see the NICU nurses when we took Brinson to the doctor on Thurs. Was great to see all the familiar faces. They can't believe how big she's getting...neither can we. Yesterday we had the sleep study, as Daddy has already blogged about. Wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Hopefully we can lose some of the "gear" she has. They may also just wait to change anything until after her surgery.
We are still at Mike and KD's. We are so appreciative they have opened their home to us. It's really been nice having everyone under one roof, almost like being on a mini vacation.
Love to all!

Still no power, new estimate of Sept. 25th.
Well I originally thought power would be restored by Friday and then Monday, but the updated map shows our zipcode will not be complete till Sept 25th. I guest it could be worse, I heard Alvin was told after October 6th. This storm is going to cost billions....and those poor people with nothing left in Galveston. What a mess.
Mike and I have been cleaning up. It is a big mess. A lot of chainsawing trees, grinding limbs and and raking. We have made quite a few trips to Home Depot and Lowes to get the supplies necessary to clean up. I think we will have most of it cleaned up this weekend except what is hanging on the power lines (not going near that....obviously) Which is also the only damage I have seen so far to my property. I have down lines and broken fence. Really not too bad, but I bet it is going to be about 40 man hours of work to get the yard cleaned up.
Big thanks to Mike for all the help.
We all survived the sleep study
The test was quite painful for the parents. Basically you sit in a low lit room to encourage Brinson to sleep. At first she was wide awake (strange environment) but then she went to sleep. Mommy and I played pass the baby until the very end when she was awake. Oh yeah, did I mention the test is for 4 hours?
She did the entire test with no oxygen, now the question is did she do it well it enough. We won't know until early next week.
Also, they increased her feeds from 22ml/hr to 26. We talked to the pulmonologist and pedi about a swallow study for her, so that will be in the works sometime. We are waiting to see a gastro doc to get that all set up. Mommy has been giving Brinson tylenol by mouth as well as sweet Ez (sugar water concentrate) periodically and the doc tells us that's ok.

We went to the doctor today for a checkup and they doc says she is doing great. Brinson weighs 10lbs 5oz.
Tomorow she wil have her sleep study to see how her lungs are doing and may we can get rid of the oxygen.

Sleepover!
Hello all. Mommy here again. We ( Meme, Ned, me, Brinson, Marion and Pappy) are sleeping over at Mike and KD's house since we do not have power at the house. It was a spur of the moment decision. We decided that Brinson was not tolerating the heat very well. Ahhhhhh.....Thank God for air conditioning! We don't have any damage from Ike, just alot of debris in the yard and the wind snapped off the top of one of our 100ft pine trees. Ned did have a branch land on the Infiniti, but we don't think it did any damage. We will post pics and vids when we get the chance. Just wanted to let everyone know we are okay.
