Where is my pacifier
Yesterday, Brinson was quite moody. Not sure if it is gas, belly pain from the surgery, learning how to breath again or she just wants her pacifier.

Back on the nasal cannulas
After morphine
Last night we visited with Brinson and she was wide awake before and after dinner till about 830pm. That is sort of unusual for her. We think she was waiting on her fix (morphine). But after sleeping for 2 days pretty much straight I guess you have to wake up sometime.
The shot above is Brinson grunting. Pretty funny, she turns beat red and stretches. She is acting more and more like a term baby.

We are still waiting on the poop.
Tonight we are going to try and grab a movie.....just to do something a little different.

Bundle of Joy
Last night we came to visit and Brinson was all wrapped up....
She has been really sleeping a lot the last 2 days....which is good because her body can focus on healing.
Here is Mommy watching Brin dream.
The nurses have been hearing bowel sounds which is also good because as soon as she poops she can eat.

Over 4lbs!
Brinson weighs .
Don't get too excited!
Since she is on morphine and not moving very much, she is probably holding some fluid.
BTW her last dose will be tomorrow at 2pm....unless she needs more for pain.

Look Ma' no bag!
Yes it is true, the ostomy bag is now gone. That means real diapers to change and no more side chute.
Brinson will be on morphine for the next 2 days for pain and to relax her. They don't want her too relaxed so they can get her off the vent as soon as possible.
The nurse pictured, Jenna, has taken great care of Brinson on and off since the beginning.

Surgery went well!
I just saw the doctor and the surgery went well. There was a tiny perforation just below the original perforation, so he removed about inch of intestine and then sewed her back up. She will not have any effects from losing such a small amount of instestine.
We should get to see her in about 1/2 to hour.
Thanks Dr. Bloss for taking great care of Brinson.

Wow...big girl!
Visiting the Baldwins
Yesterday afternoon we trotted down to see the Baldwins. It seems Zachary is all settled in and is steadily getting bigger. I believe he is around 6lbs 14oz. Click here to read more about him.
Thanks for a great meal and visit.
