Just when Daddy finishes blogging about poop...............................our big girl gave us another nice green suprise in her diaper! No....no pictures of poop either. Even though Mommy said we should put a pic up, take our word for it and we'll spare you the rest of the details! Go B Go!!!!!!

Poop and what is missing?

Brinson pooped this morning (Mommy and Daddy missed it, we were tired from yesterday's stress....I guess) Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. My guess is Dr. Bloss will want to feed her now that we know she is pooping.

If you guessed oxygen/O2/cannulas, your are right, this morning they weened her from 1/8 to 1/16 to off. I believe she probably did not need it the last fews days....except her belly was so full and hurting and it caused her to have shallow breathing. It doesn't really matter now.

Smiles and Volcanoes

Yesterday was an interesting day because we had smiles in the morning (previous post) and smiles in the afternoon/evening. During the day we had volcanoes. There was just too much stuff in her belly. Because of this it had to come out.....ie Volcanoe. No I am not going to show your pictures and videos of vomit...that is gross. I just wanted you know to understand the tone. So even though we had lots of smiles we were still worried because of all the volcanoing!
The Brinson got relief after they pulled all the fluid off her belly. Most of it came out in the first few hours (now, today it is almost nothing coming out.) But to give you an idea how much it was, normally she has anywhere from 15-20cc of fluid in her tummy, they pulled out 30cc and then over 100cc more over next 2-3 hours. She got instant relieft, hence the smiles in the afternoon/evening.
We had a few visitors come by and wear her out for us. Nana, Grampa and Abuelo really enjoyed their visit.

Oh yeah the smiles, well here you are....enjoy, I know we did!!!

Mommy and Daddy have been trying to make Brinson smile, but she just did not want to until this morning.


After all that work, she got pooped and feel back asleep. Which is pretty much normal for this time of the morning.

A little grouchy, but who wouldn't be??

Hello all, Mommy here. Daddy is rocking Brinson as I type this. I wanted to give an update, however I don't have any pics to post just yet.

Brinson is doing pretty well. They are keeping her on the nasal cannula for the time being but pulmonary doesn't expect her to go home with it. She is getting Morphine for pain, and today she was able to go 5-6 hours between doses. Last night she was pretty restless. I am hoping that tonite she will sleep better. She was waking up today, opening her eyes, noticing Mommy and Daddy, and then oh boy...she'd move and then the crying would start. Tonight she is better. She even got a little sponge bath.

Brinson missed a visit from some of her special friends at Woman's hospital yesterday. The transport team had to bring a baby over here to Texas Children's and stopped by our room but we were still in the PACU. We missed seeing Taji, Beverly and Jessica. Hope to see you guys again. :(

Today, she had some friends who were in the area for doctor appts stop in for a quick visit. The Baldwins were here in the morning and it was so funny to see Zachary and Brinson just staring at each other. Then The Hardy's swung by after their appt. Was great to see them! This afternoon Mike and Meme came to hang out.

We will try and get some pics posted tomorrow. Brin isnt in the best mood for pics so maybe she'll be feeling better. Oh, and no poop yet...so ya'll know what time it is!!!!!

Surgery went fine

Brinson is in recovery room right now. She is off the vent and on nasal cannula (supplemental O2). She may have to go to a step down ICU if she does not come of the O2 right away, but it is too early to tell if that will be the case.

I just came out so Meme could see and Mommy is holding here right now.

We will know if the surgery was successful over the next few days.

We thought the surgery was going to be early, but after waiting 2 hours while antibiotics go in THE BRINSON is in now in surgery.

They expect the surgery to take about 1 1/2 hours.

Big girl!!!!

Last night they weighed her and she is now weighs 11lbs 3.04oz.

So since leaving the NICU she has gained over 3lbs in 2 1/2 months.

Is that a little grin? Morning everyone!!!


We checked in around 6pm last night and Lisa had the first shift. I took over early this morning. It is a strange place so of course Brinson was not sleeping very well. It might also have to do with the fact they were pumping clear stuff through her at a very fast rate (like 60-80mls per hour) Her food currently goes in at 25mls per hour.

Today is the day of the surgery. They may move the surgery up, I understand there is a cancellation. So either at mid day or around 930am.

We are anxious to see Brinson all back together and that means Mommy and Daddy will have to change a real diaper.
